Eric Bodhorn
“That was solid".
Biography.
Eric Bodhorn is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Certified Personal Trainer with the NCSA. He is also a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach with USA Weightlifting, a USA Powerlifting Senior National Coach. He has years of competitive experience in both natural bodybuilding and raw powerlifting.
An unconventional start
Eric's journey into the fitness industry was a bit unique. While going through lengthy bouts of sickness and watching his weight drop to a measly 120 lbs, he was finally diagnosed with Crohns disease during his senior year of high school. The recovery process involved endless research in nutrition and training in order to build himself up to better health. It was at this point that he changed his intended major to Exercise Physiology, in hopes that he could one day help others in the way he was able to help himself.
Education
With a bachelors completed in Exercise Physiology from SUNY Brockport, Eric moved to Florida to pursue his Masters at FAU and explore new opportunities. A job working with neurological disabilities would steal his heart for the next few years. Eric was able to hone his skills in biomechanical analysis while working to make functional improvements in individuals with various physical limitations.
Meet the man
Besides powerlifting, Eric loves going snowboarding, hiking and exploring the best that Northern Colorado has to offer. With the growing brewery scene in Colorado, there’s plenty of new beers to try out as well, and Eric starts with the Belgian offerings.
Eric has also launched the new Elevate Barbell, a powerlifting, weightlifting, and strength training facility in Fort Collins and works with people in person to develop their best selves. When asked what the goal is, Eric wants “to build the sickest gym ever”.
